HS2 news and reaction in this week's Examiner

HS2 is once again making national headlines after transport secretary Justine Greening decided to shelve the decision on the route until after Christmas.

The £33bn London to Birmingham rail link, which will cut through the heart of the Chilterns, has been a hugely controversial issue since it was first mooted in March last year.

On the news Ms Greening has pushed back the announcement until early January, Bucks County Council leader Martin Tett said: "Delaying a bad decision still makes it a bad decision. We stand by our principled objections."

To get more reaction on this story and to read our interview with Chesham and Amersham MP Cheryl Gillan, check out tomorrow's (December 8) Bucks Examiner.
