Improved GCSE results for Chesham Park Community College

JOYFUL gasps echoed through Chesham Park Community College this morning when pupils nervously ripped open their GCSE results.

The improved results of recent years have been maintained this year with 43 per cent achieving five or more A* to C grades including English and maths at the school in Chartridge Lane, Chesham.

Ecstatic Hannah Digby, 16, of Hilltop, Chesham, got five A*s, three As and two Bs. She said: "I'm feeling happy. I was a bit nervous this morning. I worked hard and some were better than I expected. I haven't told my mum yet but I think she will be really pleased."

Taisha Egan, 16, of Ashley Green, was thrilled with her A*, four As, five Bs, C, D and E. She said: "I'm ecstatic. It's better than I expected to be honest. I was very nervous before I opened them this morning. I worked really hard but it has paid off. I'm going to celebrate by going to get an ice cream."

Chuffed Connor Reid-Jones, 16, of Missenden Road, Chesham, got two A*s, four As, a B, C and E. He said: "I'm feeling happy about it. I was excited when I opened my envelope. I worked really hard in lessons."

Hayden Palmer, 16, of Beechcroft Road, was pleased with his four As and five Bs. He said: "I'm pretty pleased. It's kind of better than what I was expecting. I was surprised because I was expecting some Cs."

Headteacher Kevin Patrick said: "We're very pleased with the GCSE results. The majority of our students have met their individual academic targets and they deserve to be congratulated on their achievements. "
