Holmer Green School 'over the moon' with GCSE results

JUBILANT pupils at Holmer Green Senior School were looking forward to celebrating with a fried chicken dinner after collecting their results.

Bethan Meeks, 16, from Holmer Green, managed to gain three As and seven Bs in her results.

She said: "I'm really pleased with how I did in English and French especially, I'm off to Nando's with my friends to celebrate!"

Angela Thiru, 16, Prestwood, got five As, three Bs and two Cs.

She said: "I'm surprised I got As, I'm really pleased with how I did in science and maths."

Tharane Gunasingham, 16, from High Wycombe, got six As and five Bs, she said: "I did really well in science and French, I'm off to do A Levels now - chemistry, biology and sociology and French."

In total 57 per cent of the pupils achieved five A*-C grades including English and maths and 85 per cent got five A-Cs.

Head Michael Jones said: "We're over the moon, it's been a huge success - what's been really good is we've had a huge rise in our average points score, which is really important.

"We're really pleased with how the pupils of middle and lower ability have done too - I want all our pupils to leave here with something and everyone has."
