Amersham School celebrate best ever results

THERE was three cheers for The Amersham School last week after they celebrated their best ever GCSE results.

Seventy three per cent of students achieved five or more A*-C passes with 65 per cent gaining five passes including English and maths.

Star performers included Caitlin Hughes who achieved eight A*s and three As, Emma Kennedy-Flanagan also gained six As and three A*s and Thomas Smith who got four As and five A*s.

Headteacher Sharon Jarrett said: "This year group are the result of our dedication to providing a first class education.

"The school, its staff, students and its structure has willingly undergone vast changes in the last five years and I am delighted, although not surprised, that our adopted strategies have culminated in these excellent examination results.

"This year Ofsted recognised Amersham School is a good school with outstanding features and these results certainly back this judgement."
