Do unto others ...

IN THE incredible cold we have been experiencing it is unthinkable that someone could abandon puppies in a cardboard box.

However, that is exactly what happened when three five-month-old dogs were left outside a boarding kennels last week.

Fortunately they were found by staff, and the three puppies are now in the care of the Chiltern Dog Rescue Centre. They are none the worse for wear after their experience - but the outcome could have been so different.

Dogs take a lot of work and attention, but there are centres across the UK which will take them in to find them new homes if their care is too much for their owners.

There is no excuse for dumping them and hoping luck intervenes. Yes, they were left outside a kennels, but there was no guarantee they would be found. If they had not been, their fate would have been a ghastly death.

The best gift these pups can now receive is a loving and caring home for Christmas. We hope they find somewhere where they can live long and happy lives.
