CHESHAM Park Community College was full of nervous pupils today when they went to collect their A-level results.
The school in Chartridge Lane, Chesham, has again seen an improvement in results this year with 24 per cent achieving A* to B grades.
Laura Melaisis, 18, of Darvell Drive, gasped when she learnt she had achieved an A* in history, A in psychology and a B in english literature. She said: "It's amazing. I feel so surprised, I can't believe how well I've done." Laura now hopes to go travelling in America for a year before heading to university.
Thrilled Amy Rose, 18, received three B grades on psychology, health and social care and media studies. She said: "I'm really happy. I was not expecting to do so well, I was not very confident." Amy is going on to study events management at Bournemouth University.
Delighted Brendan Wade, 18, of Vale Rise, Chesham, got two B grades in photography and biology and a C in geography. He said: "I'm quite pleased with that. I worked relatively hard to get them."
Brendan has been accepted at the Berkshire College of Agriculture where he will study a diploma in horticulture.
Headteacher Kevin Patrick said: "All of our students should be congratulated upon achieving these results. We're delighted to be celebrating their well deserved success. There are many talented and hardworking students at the college; they should all feel very proud."
