St PeterPlayers to perform Cash On Delivery

THE Chalfont St Peter Players are preparing their next production, to be performed next month.

They are staging Cash On Delivery, a topical story of a man named Eric Swan who, unbeknown to his wife Linda and lodger Norman, has been defrauding the social services for the past two years by claiming benefits for an army of fictitious lodgers.

He has had an accomplice in the shape of his Uncle George, who also does a nice line in black market NHS ladies underwear.

When Eric finds that it is all getting too complicated, he tries to extricate himself by killing off his make-believe tenants, but this brings about a slew of unwanted visitors.

These include a benefits inspector, a bereavement counsellor, a psychiatrist, an undertaker, and Norman’s fiancee Brenda.

Eric gets drawn into an ever-increasing web of lies and deceit and chaos soon ensues.

The play, described as a classic farce, is packed with all the ingredients for a riotous evening’s entertainment.

Performances take place on Thursday, July 5, Friday, July 6 and Saturday July 7 at 8pm at the Community Centre in Gravel Hill, Chalfont St Peter.

Tickets are £12, £10 for concessions. Seating is at tables and the audience is invited to take food to eat during the interval.

A bar will also be open for the event.

To book tickets, call the box office on 07928 161419.
