A twist on the traditional pantomime

SNOW White starred alongside Captain Jim Kirk from Star Trek in a school show.

The show by Stoke Poges School, in Rogers Lane, mashed together fairytales in a twist on the traditional pantomime.

Pupils, staff and parents performed Snow White – It’s a Panto Jim But Not As We Know It, on Friday and Saturday.

Marion Raeburn-James, who helped organise the production, said: “It was really good. We had about 600 people come and watch the four performances.

“It started with a spaceship landing in panto land, and then we had cheerleading mice, dancers, Captain Jim from Star Trek and a few other familiar faces.

“It was a real mash-up of different pantos.”

The school has held its Late, Late Panto after the Easter holiday for the past 15 years.

Mrs Raeburn-James added: “It’s a tradition now. Christmas is always so busy, and this way we can get all the staff, year six, and the community involved.”
