SALLY Morgan is undoubtedly one of the UK’s best known psychics. She has done readings for numerous celebrities including George Michael, Uma Thurman, Katie Price and most notably Princess Diana.
Sally has been touring all over the UK for four years and is once again bringing her show to the Wycombe Swan and Watford Colosseum.
“I absolutely love life on the road as it has really enabled me to explore my ability in a new way,” Sally explained.
While some may be sceptical about such claimed abilities Sally is infectious in her enthusiasm.
“My live shows are completely unpredictable and with so many spirits waiting in the wings, so to speak, you just never know what is going to happen. I get a real buzz from being on stage, the atmosphere can be electric and the way the messages move around the audience is fascinating.
“Obviously at times it can be difficult because with so many messages it’s like having 10 radios playing and trying to tune into one of them. It’s also hard when a spirit comes through and no one in the audience claims the message.
“I get countless people contact me either at my signing or through my website saying that a message was for them but they were too scared to stand up and take it. This is such a shame as this opportunity is lost.”
I was interested to find out when Sally discovered she had the ability to speak to people beyond the grave?
“At a very young age,” she said. “As far as I’m concerned it’s something that’s always been with me, but it seemed to be random when I was a child. Of course I now realise that when you’re young you’re not very articulate and you can’t always understand what is happening to you. But when you have it from such an early age, it’s normal to you. It doesn’t faze you, it’s just who you are.”
Sally explained the psychic experience she remembers was when she was four years old at nursery and she asked her teacher why her grandad could not be with her.
She said: “My teacher told me that no one was allowed their grandad in the class with them and then I pointed at a girl in my class and asked why she was allowed. I could see as clear as day an old man dressed in a full length coat stood next to this girl. The teacher asked me where this man was and so I went right up to him and pointed. The man smiled at me and then just disappeared. No one else in the room saw him.”
That sounds scary!
“From an outsiders point of view my gift can seem scary or hard to deal with but, if it’s something you’ve always known it’s none of these things, it’s just a way of life,” she said. “My work can be distressing and I can still jump in fright when I see a ghost as much as the next person, but it’s incredible. I feel honoured that I have the privilege to comfort people, help them when they are grieving and deliver messages to them from their loved ones on the other side whom may never have got the chance.”
I was interested to find out what Sally considered to be the most satisfying thing about her work?
She said: “The comfort it can bring people. I remember one couple came to me who’d been trying for a baby. I told them they were going to have twins, a boy and girl, and I told them the date they would be born. A few months later the mother fell pregnant, but about five months in she called me in hysterics. The doctor had told them the boy had a defect, and when he was born he’d die. But I told her that was wrong, because I’d seen her with a boy and a girl. So they kept both twins, and when they were born the doctors had to admit they’d made a mistake. Now I’ve got a beautiful photo of the twins on my wall, and the boy is perfectly healthy and happy.”
Sally originally started off as a dental nurse and eventually started to work full-time giving readings in her front room. Her daughter started to take bookings and before she knew it her diary was jam-packed with appointments. She then converted her garage into an office and gave readings from there for many years.
So why did Sally decide to turn this gift into her full-time career?
She said: “I loved the feeling of being able to help others. Although my work can obviously at times be extremely heartbreaking, the fact that I could talk to people who were in spirit world amazed me. I knew that I had been given this gift for a reason and felt that I needed to use it in a positive way.”
I was keen to find out what Sally did to unwind when she was not on the road?
She said: “A lot of the time I perform five shows a week so I don't get much time off but if I do I will spend it with my family, in particular my daughters and grandchildren. Since I had my gastric by-pass I’ve been given a new lease of life and have the energy to go for walks – admittedly some of the walks are down the high street to the stores. My one vice is shopping!”
