ONE of television’s biggest stars is set to pay a visit to the Wycombe Swan to entertain people with his mind tricks.
Derren Brown, who features on Channel Four and has been behind some of television’s most memorable moments in recent years, will begin a four night stint at the theatre starting on February 15.
His show combines suggestion, misdirection and showmanship in order to predict and control human behaviour, and audience participation will be a key part of the performance.
For the past 10 years, Derren Brown has been one of the biggest and most controversial performers on British television, with shows which have stunned audiences across the country.
His first, Derren Brown: Mind Control, appeared in 2000, and since then his career has taken on a number of strange stunts and performances.
One of his most memorable shows was entitled Russian Roulette and saw Derren play Russian Roulette with a real bullet which was broadcast live on Channel Four.
More recently his shows have demonstrated his ability to convince people into thinking that they have committed a murder through a series of suggestions and mind tricks, and even hypnotising someone into trying to assassinate a celebrity, albeit with a gun loaded with blanks.
His stage shows have toured across the country and have proved incredibly popular with audiences, with most of them selling out.
However, this is the first time that Derren has visited the Wycombe Swan, and audiences are encouraged to book tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
l The show is said to be unsuitable for under 12s, and tickets are between £32 and £36.
